Pan hoeliwyd Iesu ar y pren,
Yr haul uwchben dywyllwyd;
Ond wele, yn y t'wyllwch mawr
Caed gwawr trwy'r
gair "Gorphenwyd."
Pan y croeshoeliwyd Iesu cu,
Pyrth uffern ddu a lonwyd;
Ond trodd y pyrth i siomiant trist
Pan lefodd Crist "Gorphenwyd."
Pan y dechreuodd Crist dristau,
Telynau'r nef ostegwyd;
Ond dyblodd can y drydedd nef
Pan lefodd Ef "Gorphenwyd."
Holl lafur Crist
trwy'i boenus daith,
A'i galedwaith ddybenwyd
Pan roes, â'i olaf anadl gref,
Yr uchel lef "Gorphenwyd."
Cyfiawnder Duw mewn dwyfol Iawn,
Yn gyflawn a foddlonwyd;
Pan lefodd Crist y nawfed awr,
Y gwerthfawr air "Gorphenwyd."
Holl allu Satan
roed yn gaeth,
'r fuddugoliaeth gafwyd;
Pan lefodd Crist
ar derfyn awr
Y rhyfel mawr "Gorphenwyd."
Mae Duw yn maddeu a glanhau,
Yn angeu'r Oen a laddwyd;
A dyma waith Efengyl gref -
Adseinio'r llef "Gorphenwyd."
Daw gweiniaid Seion uwchlaw poen
I ŵydd yr Oen
a laddwyd;
Ar ben eu taith
cânt hwythau'n wir
Gydweiddi'r gair "Gorphenwyd."
Daeth gwawr o'r gair

When Jesus was crucified on the tree,
The sun overhead was darkened;
But see, in the great darkness
A dawn is had through the
word "Finished."
When dear Jesus was crucified,
The portals of black death were cheered;
But the portals turned to sad disappointment
When Christ cried "Finished."
When Christ began to sadden,
The harps of heaven were stilled;
But the song of the third heaven was doubled
When he cried, "Finished."
The whole labour of Christ
throughout his painful journey,
And his hard work was ended
When he gave, with his last strong breath,
The loud cry, "Finished."
God's righteousness in divine atonement,
Fully was satisfied;
When Christ cried out at the ninth hour,
The precious word, "Finished."
All the power of Satan
was put in captivity,
The victory was gained;
When Christ cried out
at the end of the hour
Of the great battle, "Finished."
God is forgiving and cleansing,
In the death of the Lamb who was slain;
And here is the work of the strong Gospel -
Resounding the cry "Finished."
The servants of Zion shall come above pain
To the presence of the Lamb
who was slain;
At the end of their journey
they may get truly
To shout together the word "Finished."
